The 36 State and Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Youth Leaders’ Forum of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has issued a communiqué calling for a vote of no confidence in the party’s National Youth Leader, Hon. Dayo Isreal, over alleged leadership failures and actions said to be undermining the party’s youth wing.
In a communiqué dated October 26, 2026, and addressed to the APC National Chairman at the party’s National Secretariat in Abuja, the forum said its position followed a meeting and an extensive review of Isreal’s activities and leadership style.
The youth leaders explained that their concerns were driven by the need to protect the party’s unity, strengthen its internal structures and secure electoral victories in forthcoming elections. They accused the National Youth Leader of sidelining duly elected State Youth Leaders, whom they described as key grassroots mobilisers within the party.
Among the allegations raised was the claim that Isreal had been running the national youth wing as a one-man operation without adequately involving the State Youth Leaders in his activities. The forum further alleged that he organised youth programmes, rallies and other engagements in various states without prior notification, invitations or the participation of the respective state youth leadership.
According to the communiqué, the forum considers these alleged practices detrimental to collaboration, grassroots mobilisation and effective coordination within the party’s youth structure. The document stated that the leaders had collectively resolved to take a position in the interest of the APC’s survival, unity and electoral prospects.
The communiqué, however, contains only part of the document, and the full list of resolutions and any further demands by the forum was not available in the portion reviewed. The allegations remain the position of the forum as presented in the communiqué, and Hon. Dayo Isreal’s response was not included in the document provided.
The development, if confirmed by the party’s national leadership, could raise fresh questions about coordination and relationships between the APC’s national youth leadership and its state-level structures ahead of the forthcoming elections.
