The Rivers State Executive Council has officially cancelled a N134 billion contract awarded by former sole administrator Vice Admiral Ikot Ete Ibas (rtd). The contract was for rebuilding the aging State Secretariat complex in Port Harcourt and was awarded to CCECC during the emergency rule period.

The Council also directed CCECC to refund the N20 billion mobilisation fee already paid. Additionally, a 6-man committee led by Deputy Governor Prof. Ngozi Odu was approved to assess and recommend sites for new Computer-Based Test (CBT) centers across the state to improve external exam processes.

The Council further instructed the flood committee, also headed by the Deputy Governor, to urgently address flooding issues and warned residents against blocking drainage channels.
