Following their sensational comeback to clinch the 2025 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) title against host nation Morocco, the Nigerian Super Falcons have been handsomely rewarded by the federal government and other national stakeholders.
In recognition of their outstanding performance and for bringing glory to the nation, each player received $100,000 from the federal government, alongside a fully furnished three-bedroom bungalow. Members of the technical crew were also rewarded with $50,000 each.
In addition, the Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF) awarded each player the sum of N10 million, further applauding their resilience and pride in the national colours. As a crowning honour, all players were conferred with the national honour of Officer of the Order of the Niger (OON).
The gesture has been widely celebrated across the country as a well-deserved recognition for the team’s commitment, skill, and national pride.
